Water for Children Africa, Inc. is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit founded in San Diego, California in 1993 with the mission to provide self-sustainable clean water solutions to rural African schools and communities.
All members and volunteers work on a volunteer basis (unpaid), ensuring 100% of donations reach those who need it most.
Water and sanitation, health, economic development, education, peace and environmental conservation.
Each year we facilitate the African Trade and Business Conference in collaboration with educational institutions and local businesses in San Diego County, creating opportunities for people interested in doing business with Africa or learning about its diverse cultures.
Our invited speakers educate youth and community members on current African issues, while vendors present their local businesses and innovations.
People make a difference. Our successful work is the result of dedicated people who volunteer their time, assist with their expertise, and believe in our mission.
We thank all our volunteer board members, leadership team, countless volunteers, funding partners, donors, village leaders and supporters for their dedication and continuous support of our organization.

★ Projects implementation started in 1993 after Richard Makau joined WCA Inc. as a volunteer.
For over three decades we have worked with hundreds of volunteers in the US and in Africa. We are grateful for their time, expertise, and efforts that enable WCA Inc. to effect enduring changes in water and sanitation, health, economic development, education, peace, and environmental conservation as sectors that play a vital complex matrix that impacts access to water resource in rural villages of Africa.
Safe water, sanitation, and hygiene changes everything. We empower people to help themselves by providing self-sustainable water solutions to communities and schools.
